“Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” Those were the words of John the Baptizer who came as a forerunner of the Messiah. He knew who Jesus was, and he directed others to the savior as well.
Jesus had the power and authority to call twelve legions of angels to come to his aid instead of enduring the cross of Calvary. So why didn’t he? Why did he go through with the pain and agony and shame and even death? That’s what we are going to consider in today’s study.
